Slow and Steady She Goes

Thursday, July 25th, 2013

So what do you know, I’m still alive and still truckin’ along. Still toiling away on the old Pot Farm, but I have made progress in other directions as well. Not as much as I would have liked, but life has gotten in the way as it often tends to do. My big new project is a hex grid-based affair, tentatively called Iron Sun. Like my previous strategy games, it has two levels of gameplay: an overall strategic map and a tactical combat system. Unlike my previous efforts, it is a tightly designed creation with a bit of a boardgame mentality. With this one I’m aiming for as few rules and stats as possible, and for mechanics that would work fine on a tabletop. That should help keep the scope down and make for an elegant, highly polished experience.

This drawing is not necessarily representative of the final art style, but I’m putting it up anyway cause I like it. Also, this blog needs more pretty pictures.
